DESCRIPTION OF OUR WORKOUTS

BODY SCULPTING
This workout features a full 50 minutes of muscular endurance training for the upper body, lower body and abdominals. We use weights, tubing, and body resistance to challenge every major muscle group in the body.

Note: this class does not have a cardiovascular component.

BASIC STEP AEROBICS
Appropriate for beginning to intermediate level participants. Basic bench aerobics uses Step Reebok© equipment and incorporates simple step combinations for a fun and effective workout. Muscular endurance and stretching exercises are also included.

KICK BOX AEROBICS
Take your training to the next level with this dynamic workout.  We combine kicking and punching techniques with floor aerobics choreography.  This is a challenging aerobic workout with no contact involved.  It's not a self-defense class, just fun and exciting way to move to music!

STRETCH AND FLEX
The major emphasis in this workout is increasing one's level of flexibility. There is also some time devoted to muscular endurance training and relaxation technique.

NIA(Neuromuscular Integrative Action)
NIA fuses elements of tai chi, yoga, and dance into an invigorating cardiovascular fitness program. The movements are low impact and the choreography is simple enough for participants of all fitness levels.

CARDIO DANCE
Cardio Dance is a low impact, dance–inspired aerobic workout suitable for all fitness levels. Enjoy moving to some great music and improving fitness, balance, and coordination at the same time. It’s a great way to end your work week.

GROUP CYCLING
This course is designed for beginning to intermediate fitness participants. Workout sessions are performed on a specialized stationary cycle (Startrac V-bike). Students exercise to music using a variety of cycling positions and drills.


ENROLLMENT AND PARTICIPATION INFORMATION

Winter Term 08 - Registration begins Monday, January 7 (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
Rec Aerobics and Group Cycling sessions run from January 14 - March 14 (9 weeks).

Spring Term 08 - Registration begins Monday, March 31 (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
Rec Aerobics and Group Cycling sessions run from April 7 - June 6 (9 weeks).

PLEASE NOTE:

  • All classes meet in Room 41 of the Student Rec Center (41 SRC).
  • A maximum of 30 participants may enter a workout.  In order to enter a workout, the participant must present both their punch card AND PHOTO ID. 
  • Classes last 50 minutes.
  • Drop-ins are allowed!  Purchase a day pass in 102 Esslinger.
  • Group cycling sessions are not part of the punch card system. Please enroll in 102 Esslinger.

The PUNCH CARD SYSTEM lets you drop-in to any workout you choose. Sample from our diverse menu of activities! Try different instructors and different times! It's flexible and fun! All sessions are 50 minutes long. Just present your punch card and photo ID when entering a workout.
