POLICIES AND GUIDELINES FOR POOL AND ROCK CLIMBING WALL

Children who are not potty trained must wear specially designed “swim diapers”. An “accident” will result in closure and special chemical treatment of the pool as per Oregon State Health Code, so we ask for extra caution in this regard.
Any child or youth who is a non-swimmer must be within an arm’s reach and assisted by a parent or adult supervisor at all times.

In order to use the the 1-meter (low) diving board, a child/youth must demonstrate the ability to jump or dive off the diving board and confidently swim to the pool edge independent of assistance.
Note: Use of the 3-meter diving board is not permitted.
Upon the request of an adult, the lifeguard will be happy to administer these ability tests and advise as to the child’s readiness for unassisted swimming and/or 1-meter diving board use.
Properly fitting Coast Guard approved flotation devices are acceptable.
Lightweight balls and other water toys are allowed providing they present no injury risk to others.
Climbing Wall
Children must be at least 5 years of age.
Every child must be accompanied by an adult at all times, with a maximum of 2 children per adult.
Adults must pass the basic skills test required of all climbers in order to belay children who participate in roped climbing. See the rock wall staff about signing up for a basic lesson. Cost for a one-on-one lesson is $10. Lessons must be scheduled outside of the family climb time.
